Check Engine Light

Questions

Answers

What is the check engine light?

The check engine light can be found on vehicles 1989 and newer.  Mandated by the federal government, the check engine light comes on to warn of pollution-causing running conditions.  These conditions can be anything from a loose gas cap to a misfire of one or more cylinders.

What if my check engine light is flashing?

A flashing check engine light indicates a misfire of one or more cylinders and is often associated with poor performance.  Immediate action is recommended.
